Hard Red Winter Wheat
Wheat threshes "free" when harvest. Like rye and triticale (but unlike barley and oat), the palea and lemma do not adhere to the seed at harvest. Sometimes this is referred to as a "naked" seed. File Name: Hard red winter wheatcrop.jpg
